Competition Rules

Click here to download the latest competition rules: RULES

PARC Local Rule Changes (All other rules will be according to the official RCC rules in the above downloadable document):

There are NO max points per stage, only max points per gate.

Rollovers can be repositioned anywhere behind the furthest point of forward progress.  Rollovers are not flipped back over on two side wheels as stated in the rcc rules.

2.2 trucks are allowed to have independent rear steering.

PARC runs speed stages.  There are no reverse/rollover/etc penalties, only gate marker penalties to keep everyone along the same path.  Your score for the stage is your time in seconds divided by 10 and then rounded off to the nearest whole number.  There is a maximum time limit by which you will be given a DNF for that stage.

Directions:

Papago Park Events: FROM THE EAST:  Take the 202 to Priest Drive North (right on Priest).  Priest changes names to Galvin Pkwy.  After Van Buren Street, make a right into Papago Park/Phoenix Zoo.  Then follow the maps to the crawl spot.

FROM THE WEST:  Take I-10 into 202.  Take the exit for Priest Drive and head North (Left on Priest).  Priest changes names to Galvin Pkwy.  After Van Buren Street, make a right into Papago Park/Phoenix Zoo.  Then follow the maps to the crawl spot.

For 24th Street events:  24th street dead-ends at South Mountain Park, approximately 6 miles south of Sky Harbor Airport and Downtown Phoenix. Parking is available just east of the dead-end.  If you show up and don’t see anyone around in the parking lot with crawlers, please walk up the trail or over the ridge.  We’re never too far off.

For Central Ave events:  Take Central Avenue south into South Mountain Park.  The road will veer to the west.  After the gate house, make the first left.  Then make your second right into the parking lot.  The crawling spot is located next to the southeast corner of the parking lot.  We are usually the only ones there, so look for all the parked cars and trucks.

The Summit:  Take Central Avenue south into South Mountain.  The road will veer right (West).  Follow the road to the gate house.  Continue straight, you will pass another gate house, continue straight and follow the signs for the summit.  You will continue on level roads for a couple miles until you turn to head up to the summit.  Continue up the side of the mountain.  As you get to the top of the mountain, look for a sign at a fork in the road.  You will follow the arrow to "Dobbins Lookout", which is a left at the fork.  Follow this road to the end.  The competition will take place around the old lookout structure.  It takes approximately 15 minutes to get to the top once you have entered the park at the Central Avenue entrance.
